I'm a big fan of Thanksgiving. I got to enjoy three Thanksgiving dinners this year, and only one minor explosion, which wasn't my fault, so all and all a great Thanksgiving.

As a rookie cook, I offered to make the green bean casserole. I figured it would be easy enough that even I couldn't mess it up.

Easy Peasy. Except for the Fried Onions. That is something you measure with your heart!

This week I returned from a trip to Iceland and Norway. Both were so beautiful. Iceland's geography is so unique. It was like being on another planet. Norway was like being in a fairy tale; with tall, dark forests and mysterious mists on the fjords.

I spent most of this week trying to remember when I'm supposed to be awake, when I'm supposed to be asleep, and when I'm supposed to be hungry.

Through the haze of fatigue, I was watching The Imperfects on Netflix. I like it. It feels like a group of friends playing a White Wolf game about waking up with powers.

Plus, the Secret Anti-Mad Scientist government squad uses BabyMetal as part of their tactical breaching. I approve!

There's a new Monkey Island game!

I'm a big fan of the Monkey Island games, although maybe not of this art style. I played the Secret of Monkey Island a lot as a kid, which did a lot to form my sense of humor. I mean, you win sword fights through cutting insults. What's not to love?

Right now I'm playing Detroit: Become Human, which is a sort of Choose-Your-Own-Adventure through moral philosophy. As you play, it asks you to think about deep questions like:

  1. What does it mean to be alive?

  2. Does free will exist?

  3. If I somehow killed off my android in the tutorial level, am I doomed to get the "bad ending?"

That last one has me the most worried, to be honest.
