This week my determination not to purchase any more subscriptions was lost to my desire to watch Miss Scarlet and the Duke.


I love this show! It's set in Victorian London and features the first-ever female private detective. The costuming is great, it's historically accurate, and the characters are well-written and interesting. Scarlet is smart and determined, but also proud and stubborn. She makes mistakes and learns from them.


I'm also on board with the new romance between Ivey and the Coroner. I think it's super cute.


It's set in the 1880s, and the dresses are just starting to puff their sleeves. They haven't hit the full, glorious lambchops of the 1890s, but they're definitely getting started.
